Little Fish

They beautiful weather we had last week is a distant memory. Those 80 degree days with a cool breeze have been replaced with upper 90s heat and humidity. There is no breeze to speak of the the sun is so bright it takes a few minutes for your eyes to adjust. But we have found a relief, at least Matty has. His new spot is the pool on the porch. He runs to the front door each morning after breakfast and smacks the glass with his little palms. Since 7:45 a.m. is a bit early for porch swimming, distraction and redirecting take over our mornings together.

Finally, 10 a.m. comes and I strip the kiddo down and help him wiggle into a swim diaper. He runs back to the door with his bucket and measuring cups at the ready. He is a blur of action for the first 20 minutes. He dumps water into and out of the pool. He throws all of his toys in and out of the pool and runs to gather them back up just to do it all over again. During his down time, he loves to watch the butterflies in the garden and the bunny that has been living next to the garage. He waves at all the cars that drive by and takes a special interest in kids on bikes.

I have a feeling that this obsession is just beginning. I'll post pictures later of Matty in his porch pool!
